In the days before money could readily buy perfect smiles, custom-sized boobs and plumped up behinds, FemDoms crafted illusions of beauty and fierceness through glorious fetish clothing, dramatic footwear and displays of heart-stoppingly sexy toys and equipment. Most of all, they relied on the powerful attitude and self-confidence they projected when they stepped into a room.
Today, we added Professional FemDoms, Part 2 to the Mistress Michelle Collection of historic BDSM/fetish/Leather photos. Judging by background decor, some of these were shot as early as the 1960s and as late as the early 1990s. Those were pre-Internet days when femdoms circulated their photos in underground magazines, contact rags, and other kink-related publications to lure admirers to sample their strict talents. Many of the photos Michelle archived were from now out-of-business magazines and BDSM tabloids that sold behind the counters or hidden at the backs of local magazine and newspaper shops.
We don’t see many stores like that anymore! The Internet made using print contact magazines quaint and has put nearly all the publications in Michelle’s collection out of business, destroying a Community-based networking system that had, for decades, steadily provided for the needs of discriminating, typically closeted fetishists, Leatherfolk, and kinky people.
Everything changes over time, so no regrets. On a positive note, some old hairstyles faded out too. Seriously, did she smother clients with her hair? How do you even throw a whip without the whole thing melting down? You need a whole lot of confidence and strong neck muscles to wear this epic nimbus of hairspray. But the look on her face says it all, doesn’t it? She is ready to kick some ass hard!
Today’s posh femdom lives in a different, freer world, and more glamorous world. She likely has a significant social media presence, filled to the brim with exciting photos, and uses the tools and tricks of today’s fashion and beauty industries, plus some help from photoshop, to thrill us. It’s impossible to complain about that. Still, there’s something about the older generation that strikes a deeper chord. Maybe it’s the raw authenticity.
Back when the Scene was still largely underground and hard to access, basic photos like these were our meat and potatoes. Often unretouched, rare, and precious commodities in the burgeoning world of BDSM porn, submissives would scrutinize these pics with the same worshipful feelings people feel today for contemporary models in expensive outfits and luxurious dungeons. It feels like the older generation of professional femdoms relied much more on their internal dominant energy than on conventional beauty or expensive gear to blaze a lasting impression on lustful viewers and potential clients.
How many of them can you identify? I recognized three BDSM legends: Mistress Ann Murray, Sadist Cleo DuBois (who continues to educate and serve our Communities), and Mistress Mir. If you know or remember them, you’ll love the shots of them from the 1970 and 1980s.
Most Community elders have kept copies of their old kink magazines. Michelle cared enough about the people in them to digitize their images for modern times. We are very grateful that she did. We love our history. We even love our big-hair days.
Enjoy the new selection of ladies of the dungeon in their day.
