Bruno Schulz (July 12, 1892 – November 19, 1942) was a Polish Jewish writer, fine artist, literary critic and art teacher. He is regarded as one of the great Polish-language prose stylists of the 20th century. In 1938, he was awarded the Polish Academy of Literature’s prestigious Golden Laurel award…. Schulz was shot and killed by a German Nazi in 1942 while walking back home toward Drohobycz Ghetto with a loaf of bread. — via Wikipedia
Famous for his brilliant writing, Schulz’s illustrations were quietly suppressed for decades because of their frankly kinky themes which focused on foot fetishists, female dominance, and kinky brothels. One look at them and we know that, at heart, Bruno Schulz was one of us. Today, his drawings are acknowledged as part of his official artistic legacy. Enjoy this splendid view of the world of female dominants and male submissives, ca. 1920s-1930s, through the eyes of Bruno Schulz.
