In response to my posting the speech on Facebook, I got word from Magnus Hakonarson, a prominent BDSM leader in Iceland, explaining how they fought their way through political resistance and gained broad acceptance in their country. Here is what he told me.
Suffice it to say, I hope that BDSMers all around the world walk that path and bring the laws into line with the facts about sex and gender diversity.
