It’s been quite a year so far. I won’t repeat what you already know, but suffice to say all of the stuff you already know goes a long way towards explaining the abrupt interruption of updates to BED.
In 2019, we lost a precious member of our Board, and just as we were getting past the grief, COVID-19 descended upon us and everyone has been scrambling to protect their families’ health and create a new normal with new protocols in place. Events were canceled, clubs were closed, and a lot of people were just not feeling it, if you know what I mean.
That said, the world of virtual Kink/Leather meetings has taken off in ways I only dreamed it would. I’ve attended more BDSM online events in 2020 than physical events over the past 5 years! Wow. I was also asked to deliver the KeyNote at the first virtual Colorado (mini) Leatherfest. It’s all about how BDSMers can adapt and overcome social distancing by using our best ally and tool: the Internet.
