She was a little before my time, but still working — and quite notorious — when I first got into the BDSM scene in the mid 1980s. Her shows were infamous for their no-holds-barred scenes and drew a coterie crowd of international dominants, submissives, switches, fetishists and transgender players.
Today, thanks to the Mistress Michelle collection that was donated to us earlier this year, I was able to assemble a tribute page to this bold and entrepreneurial prodom, featuring sizzling vintage photos of her in action and a couple of discreetly worded print ads too. It’s delicious to rescue real history from the oblivion wrought by BDSM censorship and to install Belle in our permanent archives.
